	"Only the Best" Fine Art & Frame Connie Simons - Portrait Artist Capturing the spirit and personality of her subjects is Connie’s favorite thing to do. She grew up the ninth of sixteen children on the family dairy farm in Ohio. At Christmas time, Santa would bring each child only one gift, but lots of games and art supplies to share. Her love of drawing and painting grew from this wealth of art materials, the closeness of nature and the many people in her extended family. Connie has a degree in social work with minors in art and early childhood education from Wright State University. She took private lessons in portraiture in the seventies. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, North Africa and the Tropics studying people and their cultures, she developed a unique understanding of people that adds depth to her work. A diversified Artist working in many media, her work has been exhibited and is owned by people all over the United States. Connie has served as the Fine Art Director of the Naperville Art League. She has studied airbrush portraiture in San Francisco and has completed five large murals for the music department at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois. Connie has most recently worked on the Dan Shanower Memorial in downtown Naperville, sculpting a number of the faces shown on the 9/11 Memorial Wall. Her studio is in Naperville where she lives with her husband and three daughters. Her oldest daughter, Suzanna, has recently joined her in her business of teaching and producing art. Our goal is for each child to leave with a proud smile on their face, because they just created something amazing. Instilling confidence and creativity in children is a main priority of Oh Suzanna!
